Researcher Animal Nutrition, Wageningen Livestock Research
Rick graduated in 1990 as a Bachelor in Animal Production and worked as a research assistant for two years at the Center for Research and Extension for Poultry.
Thereafter he joined Cobb-Europe for five years as a technical-commercial adviser.
After a short-term job at MOBA in Barneveld, he returned to the Applied Poultry Research ‘Spelderholt’ in Beekbergen in 1998. Here he worked intensively with laying hens in relation to alternative housing systems (aviary and enriched cages).
In November 2010, he started his PhD (Feeding the modern broiler breeder) and finished it at 6th February 2015.
At present, Rick is working as a senior researcher animal nutrition for Wageningen Livestock Research in Wageningen the Netherlands.
He focuses on the integral approach to different topics such as nutrition, housing, management, behaviour, welfare, environmental pollution and health in broiler breeders in particular, but also in laying hens and broilers.
